Garrett Clayton
You probably recognize Garrett from the DCOMs Teen Beach Show and Teen Beach 2, but he's since taken on new projects enjoy the movie Reach. Clayton shared some special info on Instagram ahead of the movie's release in 2018, opening up that he and his longterm partner have dealt with suicide and other tough topics the film covered.

Actress Josie Totah shared that she was transgender in a personal essay for TIME in August 2018. She previously starred in the Disney Channel hit show Jessie and opposite Mindy Kaling in the series Champions. "When my friends and family call me Josie, it feels like I’m being seen. It’s something everyone wants, to perceive understood," she wrote.

Joey Pollari
We knew him as Miles in Avalon Steep before he hit the big screens as a potential interest for Simon, the title character in the viral movie Love, Simon. Pollari said the role was especially meaningful to him because it was similar to his own experience as a gay man. He told The Advocate that he came out at 18.

The actor—best known for his role as Matthew Bailey in the Sonny With a Chance spin-off So Random!—opened up about his coming out journey as a gay man. Having grown up with "very, very conservative" parents, Matthew said that he spent most of his younger years hiding his authentic self, going so far as to attend conversion therapy during his days off from work as a Disney Channel star.
"No one knew," he shared on the Sept. 19 episode of Christy Carlson Romano's podcast Vulnerable. "My castmates did not know at the hour, so it was caring of a secret."
Matthew went on to clarify that Disney "had nothing to do" with his verdict to seek conversion therapy, but rather he agreed to it in response to his parents' "nightmare" reaction to him coming out following his 18th birthday.
