Do you think that Martha Stewart finds it amusing that there is always someone pointing out who the "new" Martha might be? Like, does she think, what's wrong with the original Martha who is still going strong.

Do the people who receive called the "new" Martha feel bad that they are not seen as themselves, but as Martha clones?

Two men, not women come to mind as being lauded as the "new" Martha. One is Eddie Ross and the other is P. Allen Smith.

Let's compare them with the original:

Eddie Ross. Age 30ish. We all comprehend him as a fellow blogger (he also tweets and has a Facebook page). He worked for the original Martha as a senior editor, has been on TV (most known for being on Bravo's Top Design), been featured in scores of magazines, and is functional on a book. He lives in a state house, loves gardening and cooking, and can expertly decorate and style, and brilliantly shop and provide workshops and lectures.. He's openly gay and has a partner (Jaithan) who he shares his animation with. Eddie does not own any animals.

Who Is P. Allen Smith’s Wife?

Although P. Allen Smith is rumored to possess a wife, this has never been proven. He is also rumored to be homosexual and to have a male existence partner. Mr. Smith is notoriously private about his personal life and has never publicly confirmed either rumor.

Some reports indicate that P. Allen Smith, the well-known gardening and lifestyle expert, either currently has a wife named Debbie or was married to a woman named Debbie at some point in his life, perhaps in the years before he became famous. These rumors are vague and acquire never been clarified by Smith himself. However, in one episode of his gardening show, which took place in his hold home, he appears to introduce a live-in boyfriend/girlfriend to whom he refers as his “life partner.” Although Smith has never stated exactly what he meant by that term, many have taken it to be an admission of his homosexuality and acknowledgement his life partner.

On April 21, Sue, her Aunt Gay and I attended a lecture and luncheon honoring outdoor living expert and gardener P. Allen Smith at the Arkansas Governor’s Mansion. The event was hosted by The Friends of the Mansion. He was also selling and autographing his newest book, Bringing the Garden Indoors (which, of course, I had to have!). Smith’s lecture started at 10:30, followed by an outdoor luncheon and leisurely tour of the gardens, which he designed. He has worked on the gardens for the past 25 years. Allen is a very engaging speaker and quite funny. We really enjoyed the presentation and although we didn’t win any of the “guess the plant and win a plant” prizes, we still had a great time.
