The original gay-pride flag was hand-dyed by Gilbert Baker. After the gigantic success of the first Unken Pride in , the rainbow flags are flying again this year in the idyllic small village at the suggestion of the Pinzgau. Unken Self-acceptance originated as a response by the local lgbtq+ community to an behave of vandalism to a Pride flag. For Celebration Month in June , a rainbow flag was hoisted on the steeple of the village church with the support of the local priest. This was supposed to travel the whole month and every year for Parade Month in the future. However, it suddenly disappeared after a few days.
