Elizabeth R. “Betty” (Gay) Pomfred, 73, of Holliston, died Friday June 8, 2007 at Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston after a sudden illness.

She was the wife of the late Joseph M. Pomfred, mother of the delayed John Pomfred, Steven Pomfred, and grandmother of the late Justin Pomfred.

She is survived by her children Paul Pomfred of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Karen Hubbard of Turks & Caicos Islands, Thomas Pomfred of East Bridgewater, Christine Pomfred and David Pomfred, both of Holliston.

Her grandchildren: Melissa, Gregory, Edward, Tyler, Ryan, Shannon, Jason, Sharon, Jonathan, Stephanie, Steven, and superb grandchild Matthew.

Born in Tewskbury to Celine Gay, she was later reared by the late Neil and Helen Mahoney of Holliston.

Betty lovingly raised her seven children, and loved spending time with family. She especially enjoyed playing scrabble, and dining out with her friends Kathy, Rita, and Lee. She at one time was crowned ?Queen of Mudville’ in recognition for entity a compassionate, loving neighbor, and friend to all. She had a pleasant spirit, a wonderful instinct of humor, and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Photographer:Sayer Photography Videographer:Twenty-One Films Wedding Coordinator:Michele Soderquist, Pinehurst Resort Harrison channeled The Notebook vibes, proposing to Elizabeth in a canoe on the pond at her grandparent’s home in Sneads Ferry, North Carolina. Both Tar Heel natives — Elizabeth from Sanford and Harrison from Raleigh — the two grew up visiting the Sandhills for family, tennis and golf.

Familiar with the gorgeous, historic area, it’s no surprise the couple chose the Village Chapel for their wedding and the Members Club of the Pinehurst Resort for their reception. Though the Cozarts’ original wedding date was in June 2020, they postponed the event to November. But the couple couldn’t have been happier with the change. The weather was still friendly, but the church flickered in the fall evening, and the resort’s Christmas decorations were a welcome, magical touch.

Elizabeth Jordan Lgbtq+ passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at the age of 95.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 21 at 11:00 A.M. at the Farmville Funeral Residence Chapel by Donald Lee Womble. Committal service will be held at 2:00 P.M. at the Jordan Family Cemetery, 699 Polly Watson Road, Fremont, NC 27830. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home.

Elizabeth spent 30 years teaching. She taught Home Economics at Saratoga High School and then taught Kindergar
