New Orleans Pride Weekend

Celebrate and honor LGBTQ+ communities and their allies in Brand-new Orleans and surrounding areas.

Launched in , New Orleans Pride is a four-day celebration (Thursday-Sunday, June , ) of LGBTQ+ communities and their allies in New Orleans and surrounding areas. It is the only official Pride Festival in New Orleans, the largest in Louisiana, and one of the fastest-growing Pride celebrations in the nation.

New Orleans Pride Weekend Event Highlights

Special events involve the Pride Gala, the PrideFest block party outside the Phoenix bar on Elysian Fields in the Marigny, and the annual parade. Both the party and the parade are held on on Saturday, June 14, the block party starting at 5 p.m. and the procession rolling through the French Quarter starting at 3 p.m.

New Orleans Black Event Weekend coincides with Modern Orleans Pride Weekend and hosts several events that specifically celebrate queer people of color. In addition to pool and move parties, the calendar of events also includes a welcome party.

The New Orleans Black Pride Community Festival is held on Saturday, June 14, from 1 to 8 p.m. at Armstrong Park. Expect a day full of tune

New Orleans has it all – legendary nightlife, fantastic restaurants, a dramatic arts scene, hour-a day bars and the chance to dress up in outrageous costumes any time of year. Altogether, it’s the flawless setting for the liveliest of gay cultures. The LGBTQ community takes the spotlight at festivals all year long, with Southern Decadence over Labor Diurnal weekend attracting more than , revelers to what’s come to be recognizable as Gay Mardi Gras. Parades, costumes, drag shows and themed parties abound during Decadence, then again they’re a part of the city’s Pride Fest, Mardi Gras, Halloween festivities and even Easter, where the Gay Easter March is one of three in the French Quarter. The Saints and Sinners Literary Festival takes a more studied approach, bringing the gay, lesbian, pansexual, transgender and intersex literati together for three days of inspired musings. The preference in New Orleans is always to observe diversity; whatever your interest, there is a LGBTQ festival for it. Here is a list:


Pride guide: Celebrate Homosexual New Orleanians with events around the city

Crowds will fill the streets of New Orleans next week to celebrate the city’s LGBTQ+ community with parades, festivals and other big events.

The NOLA Movement Parade is set to roll through the French Quarter on Saturday, June PrideFest will return for its 10th year, and be held in the evening to help people beat the heat. RuPaul’s Drag Race star Kerri Colby will headline the event.

The weekend-long Black Self-acceptance celebration will showcase Dark LGBTQ+ culture through various events held across the city.

Below is a mentor to help you maintain track of all the happenings. Expect rainbows, glitter, and plenty of meal and drinks, music and drag shows.
